Chile and Greenland are the only viable red countries. Mongolia and most of eastern Europe aside from Russia and Ukraine are viable yellows with Poland perhaps being the best option, and Finland is the only acceptable green.

Then congratulations, we agree because those all fall under the category of either "Poland" or "eastern Europe". It is my hope you improve your reading comprehension in the future.

I'd rather live in Czechia than in fricking Poland. They are much more chill and you don't have to worry about them stealing your stuff.

Depends on which part, but I otherwise understand

this chart is laughably outdated and has genuine mistakes in it. the different worlds either refers to their alignment in the cold war or their development, and there's a few countries that no longer fit those two definitions here.

also, valid answers to a country to live in for 'digital freedom' shouldn't include eritrea or north korea, since neither of those have any kind of freedoms period

How much money can you make online? You will need to bribe the local police and mayor/chief/warlord. You will also need to pay for a lot of public goods so that local people don't resent having a rich 1st worlder live among them. Don't show off your wealth beyond that though, or you'll attract thieves.
Another consideration is broadband coverage. If your main concern is digital freedom you need the physical infrastructure to exercise that freedom. Realistically that means you need to be in one of the larger cities, which in turn exposes you to a lot more crime. If you don't mind living secluded behind locked gates and electric fences you might be fine.

Yes. Many DNM and pirate lords have alternative residency and citizenship-by-investment passports in case everything is fricked and they need to quickly get smuggled to a place without extradition or cooperation, or they just want to be closer to their coloc racks. Surely you are also familiar with the globetrotting and very specific abodes of Snowden/whistleblowers and people like the Scihub lady.

since third world basically shifted to mean sh*thole, most people use them like

first world = western, developed, rich
second world = developing or rich with non-democratic system
      third world = sh*thole

If you care so much about the distinction just say poor or rich. People usually only distinguish between the first and the third world anyway. If you can abitrarily assign meanings to words just do away with communication altogether.

i use "developed", "developing" and "sh*thole", but i am aware that "first/second/third world" will stick for a while and i work with that assumption.
if you can't handle the ambiguities that happen in everyday language, where people have different contexts or education levels, give up trying to communicate and have a nice day.
inability to accept other worldviews is literally an autism symptom, by the way.

These maps are moronic, it's pretty stupid to compare quality of life in countries such as Chile, Mexico, Brasil, Argentina or Uruguay with real sh*tholes like most of Africa, India or Pakistan.

They should create a "2nd world" category, adding Chile to the same basket as Ethiopia is fricking moronic.

That's because the first world/second world/third world rubric is 100% Cold War. The first world were the western democracies and their allies, the second world was the eastern communist states and their allies, and the third world was the nonaligned world. Today "third world" is a slang term for sh*thole, but it really just means nonaligned.

Unlikely unless you are a hard core off-grid self sufficient individual. Most of the red will be cut off from global trade soon and yellow may follow depending on US/China relations. Most of those places won't have stable internet for long and would be at the whim of US/Starlink when they lose local/long-haul land based connections.

First and second world weren't "tier 1 and tier 2." The term "third world" was a reference to the idea that there was the free world, there was the communist world, and then there's everyone else just trying to get by without starving to death. Calling Russia and China 2nd world countries is very insulting to them.

No it's not, it's just a fact. They're the other guys. There's western liberal democracy (i.e., the zenith of contemporary civilization) and then there's the guys who are doing it wrong. That's the 2nd world.

Then there's America's Asian economic puppets of Japan and South Korea.
Then there's a whole bunch of guppies who Then there's America's THINK they're America's allies but aren't really.
        Then there's China.

It is and should be. China depend entirely on 1st world countries to exist. Cut off even 80% of their imports and their populations would be decimated in less than a year. They were propped up by the US and global trade empowered them. Global trade is coming to an end.

What does any of this have to do with financial status? First, second and third world countries were terms coined to the Allies, the Axis powers and countries that took a neutral stance during WWII.

Here in Peru the government is too busy tearing itself apart and stealing from it's people to ever worry about what you are doing on your computer. Hell, even if they did care about that, they're too tech illiterate to do anything about it. I don't know why I even bother with schizo measures like using OpenBSD on a troonybooted Thinkpad. For all I know, you could use internet explorer to download illegal material on an unencrypted windows machine and you'll be fine for the rest of your life, unless they catch you for something else (like those pedophiles who are caught for being predators and then the police discovers they had TBs of e-girl pics on their PCs).

The advantage of hosting your sh*t in a foreign power bloc is that they won't share your data with your own rulers' spies. But if you move to the foreign power bloc all of a sudden your data is very interesting to their spies and now it's your old bloc's places that are safe to host on.

Always host your sh*t in enemy power blocs, never your own. Doesn't matter which bloc you're in. If you're in the zogged west, host your sh*t in Russia. If you're in israelitetin's Russia, host your sh*t in the west. Etc.
