4 Bowling Green charged in the shooting deaths of two ranklin youths early Sunday morning State police arrested Skillern south of ranklin a short time after finding the bodies of Cher ry Kirby 17 and Jimmy Hol man 22 in a parked car near here Authorities said the two were killed when an assailant ap proached the car in which they were sitting and opened fire Two other occupants of the car were injured by flying glass and treated at a local hospital Skillern was charged with murder and lodged in the War ren County jail The batch of soap is then allowed to cool and harden before being cut into blocks for marketing Presently the fine cream colored soap is being sold in the bar and chipped forms The bars sell for ten cents each and the hand grated chips are packaged in twenty cent bags According to Mrs major appeal of homemade soap over the synthetic detergents produced today is that the lye soap dissolves readily in water breaking down without forming an insoluble precipitate which is a contributing factor in water pollution problems happy to be one of the first retail outlets of homemade soap in the state and hope that this folkcraft which has survived for cen turies lh parts of Kentucky will become a revived craft as tourists and other visitors re discover its fine she said The homemade soap is available at handcraft outlets at Pine Mountain State Park Natural Bridge (AP) Two men and a woman were charged Sunday in the Saturday night slaying of Princeton phar macist Eugene Williamson dur ing an armed robbery at drugstore Police said Williamson was shot three dimes but wife escaped and summoned aid The three were arrested a short time later in nearby Prov idence Charged with armed robbery and murder were Lander Hollo well 23 formerly of Princeton 11 be required Division of Arts and Crafts is attempting to market a line of homemade soaps made by the senior citizens of the Hazard community Mrs Mary director of the state agency and Mrs Betty Morton eastern regional supervisor are working with the senior citizens organization to develop a high quality of this ancient home craft to sell in the six handcraft outlets The classic soap is made by reacting an help mothers who are on relief now find a job by giving them a place where they can keep their children while they work The center has a staff of five and is financed primarily from $31000 in contributions it has received from local governments and businesses The fee varies according to the ability to pay but a minimum fee of $5 per week is charged Alpha Kappa Alpha of Kentucky State
