Having just returned from a mission to Mars, Commander Ross (Justin Lazard) isn't exactly himself. He's slowly becoming a terrifying alien entity with one goal -- to procreate with human women! When countless women suffer gruesome deaths after bearing half-alien offspring, scientist Laura Baker (Marg Helgenberger) and hired assassin Press Lennox (Michael Madsen) use Eve (Natasha Henstridge), a more tempered alien clone, to find Ross and his brood. Before long Eve escapes to mate with Ross.

Critics Consensus

Clumsily exploitative and sloppily assembled, Species II fails to clear the rather low bar set by its less-than-stellar predecessor.

darkart1000 2 ! of the best horror movies i seen ! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/26/24 Full Review Ryan B movie was s***. vfx werent as good, messy story, one likable character, not enough screen time for eve, a premise that went no where, messy writing and plot holes. disregards the things that made the original interesting- like the action was more choppy, everything felt so much lesser than the original. Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/19/24 Full Review Jelisije J One of the most laziest sequels in movie history that ignores the first film epilogue and disrespects its own story. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review Marc Z I referred to "Junk Science" in my review of the original Species. This purported sequel is filled with just that-junk science. Take that and combine it with bad special effects, a poor script, lousy acting, and poor Direction and the results are not great. This one is loosely based on the first. In a poor attempt to do a "Terminator" twist the ,movie attempts to rehabilitate its villainous star and carries over some of the characters from the first to draw in the original's audience. There are some interesting elements. Natasha Henstridge is good, but not nearly as good as she was in the first. The movie is weak but I watched it anyway and can't believe there is a third part of the trilogy out there. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/18/23 Full Review margaret W 'SPECIES II: The Re-Specening' - is a poor follow-up to the (mostly) enjoyable first entry into this (now globally panned) Franchise of sequels that just seem to get worse with each entry (a true example of Hollywood at it's finest) Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/14/23 Full Review Steve D Henstridge is underused in this worse follow-up to the OK original.
