This orange honey butter is perfect on cornbread alongside chili but also makes a great edible gift!
Today’s recipe is simple but it is an important one. You want this orange honey butter in your life. Not only would it liven up a dry piece of toast at breakfast, but it’s going to come in extra handy at Christmas. Whether it be for a Christmas brunch (spread it on a blueberry muffin and live happily ever after) or for a Christmas Eve fancy-pants dinner (butter up some fresh bread to go with that holiday ham), it has festivities written all over it.
This butter was made to shine. Made to brighten up a dull piece of bread or muffin. MADE for Christmas time. And every other time.
Not only would it be marrrrrrvelous on a dinner or brunch table, it would be a fantastic gift! Edible gifts are so much fun to give and this one is no different. Literally takes 5 minutes to make, then all you have to do is package it in a pretty jar and give! Pair it with a homemade loaf of bread for bonus points.
It also goes great with cornbread. Chili and cornbread…kind of boring (although it was vegetarian quinoa chili). Chili, cornbread and orange honey butter? Waaaay better.
This is the kind of thing that requires very little effort but has a big results. These are my favorite kinds of things, people.
All you do is mix honey, butter, and orange zest. That’s it! If you want, you can even take a crappy picture of it in front of your fireplace and put it on your blog and rave about it. But that’s totally optional.
Want to try out some more fancy-pants butters? (AKA compound butters) Try: Vanilla Bean Whipped Butter.

I JUST came across this delicious sounding butter! Do you think I could use lemon zest instead of orange? Not many orange fans in our house…

It’s just a small ramekin/bowl — I think I got it from Target’s dollar bins a long time ago! Sorry that’s not more helpful!
