Over a year ago back in May 2023, I had the pleasure of capturing BTS and stills images for series 2, episode 5 of Painting Birds with Jim & Nancy Moir. And earlier this year, I was finally able to showcase them when the new series was released.Such a fun day & we got some great kitschy woodland shots of Jim & Nancy and some gorgeous ones in front of Loch Mallachie whilst they learned to paint using traditional Chinese ink and calligraphy brushes.Tune in and watch the new series now over on Sky Arts!#commercialphotographer #scottishhighlands #scotlandphotographer

Amazing to see young people in the Highlands being given a platform to debate, challenge and work towards climate change. Some very intelligent (emotionally and academically) students here. It was a pleasure to photograph the Mock Cop28 in Inverness, and I'll look forward to seeing more from these students...hopefully leading us into a much more ethical and considerate future."Before politicians arrive in Dubai on Thursday to address the ongoing climate crisis, the next generation of leaders held their own summit in Inverness.Organised by The Open University,Developing the Young Workforce Inverness & Central Highlands (DYWICH) andHighland One World Global Learning CentreMock COP28 gave students across the north an opportunity to try their hand at solving some of the most pressing issues that contribute to the climate crisis. The third annual Mock COP convention was hosted by the Highland Council on Monday and brought together students from 12 secondary schools acrossHighland and Moray.Students took on the role of world leaders representing many of the nations, corporations and institutions that are part of the problems â and potential solutions â drivingthe ongoing climate crisis.Thorough debate, bargaining and voting on resolutions, students worked to craft a plan to combat climate change."Read the full story in the The Herald Scotland here:https://lnkd.in/esXbA38P#cop28 #cop28uae #climateaction #climatecrisis #mockcop28 #leadersoftomorrow

It was great to photograph this stunning property for Simpson Builders in Beauly back in April.Creag na h-lolaire is a gorgeous luxury Airbnb situated on the Applecross coastal road. It has 2 bedrooms, one of which has floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Loch and the incredible Torridonian highlands! The weather changed dramatically throughout the shoot - it went from grey to beautiful sunshine to hailstones (in May?!). I really did have to get the shot when I could, so there were a few mad dashes whenever the sun appeared to get some shots of the exterior.I studied both architecture as well as commercial photography so a shoot like this is really up my street and leaves me ideally placed to photograph the unique beauty of your property. Nessie spotting!đ§What a fun weekend covering the Loch Ness Quest for the The Loch Ness Centre and their PR team, Muckle Media - a certified B-Corp!This was set to be the biggest search of the Loch in 50 years with hundreds of volunteers coming from around the world to keep an eye out for any signs of Nessie. For the first time the search went high-tech and a hydrophone was used to listen to underwater sounds and drones were employed to search from above. It was great to see the enthusiasm shown by the volunteers on Saturday despite the horrific downpour, which I of course got caught in (see photođ). So despite not being booked to work on Sunday, I decided to go along and get some more sunshine, cheery pics of volunteers!Well done to everyone for braving the weather!đđ#nessiequest23 #lochnessquest23 #scottishhighlands #commercialphotography

I was up photographing a wild fish survey at Loch Torridon this week and loved it! Honestly, getting a peek into other careers and lives is one of my favourite parts of this job... and five hours working against this backdrop was no trial either.#highlandphotographer#commercialphotography

Iâve been working with the J&R Group to showcase the delicious food their restaurants offer across Scotland, and my first port of call was The Seaforth in Ullapool.Being from Ross-shire, Iâve spent a lot of time in Ullapool. When I was a kid it was day trips with family, then as a teenager and in my 20s it was visiting one of my best friends for general debauchery, (we met through the Higher Drama course, based from Eden Court theatre over holidays but offered to students across the Highlands). And since my return to the Highlands, Ullapool has again become one of my favourite places for work, adventures and tootling around in the sun getting ice cream and watching the fishing boats bobbling in the bay.But throughout all this time, fish & chips at The Seaforth has been a staple, so I was delighted to recently photograph their team at work and an offering from their delicious menu. And since delivering their images, itâs been a pleasure seeing them put to such good use with a Highland News Group campaign and their own stream of interesting content on social media, highlighting upcoming events, offers and stars of the menu.Their posts are supplemented by considered phone photos of day to day goings on at The Seaforth, but having a bank of professional images can be such a relief for marketing and digital content professionals! No more scrabbling online to find a relevant stock image, and paying per image for the pleasure of using them. And, if you want to include your staff in your advertising, then theyâll thank you for my quality lighting and a bit of craic to raise natural smiles. So if would like engaging images to showcase your venueâs offering to the world, then please get in touch.Jennifer Macdonald-Nethercott, Chartered Marketer Darrel Paterson#commercialphotography #scottishrestaurant #scottishbusiness

Lovely to meet all the new Impact 30 participants when I photographed their first in-person meeting of cohort 8. Some very interesting businesses and very driven entrepreneurs! As an alumni of thr program, I've already been delighted to see their successes, posts and awards won over the past few weeks and I'm looking forward to seeing where each of their companies take them in the future. đ
